1 · Who we are
North 27 LLC is an Arizona limited liability company based in Scottsdale, Arizona. We are the controller of the information described here. You can reach us at contactus@north27studio.com. Company details are on the company page.
2 · What this covers
This covers this website and our astrology app. We call it the app below.
This website has no analytics, no advertising, no tracking pixels and no cookies. Our host records ordinary server logs, the way every web server does. Nothing on these pages calls out to a third party at all. Until September 15, 2026 both this site and the app loaded their two typefaces from Google, which meant Google received a request — and therefore an IP address — from every visitor to every page, including this one and including the app’s sign-in screen, before anyone had an account. We now serve those fonts ourselves. That was the only such request either place made.
3 · What you give us
Almost everything the app holds is something you typed in. The exceptions are the readings it writes from your charts and the ordinary server logs in section 4.
Your account
An email address and a password. The password is stored only as a one-way hash. We cannot read it. An invite code is also required right now, and we record that an account was created with one.
Birth information, yours and other people’s
For each chart in your circle: a name or label you choose, a birth date, a birth time if you know one, and a birth place. You can mark a birth time as unknown. The app then says which parts of the chart it cannot work out without one. You can also record how a person relates to you, and whether they have died.
Birth date, time and place are the most personal things the app holds. Together they identify a person closely. Treat them that way. We do.
What you write in chat
Whatever you type in a conversation, and the app’s replies. People tell it real things about their lives. We treat chat content as the most private material in the product.
Your settings
How direct you want the writing, how much astrology vocabulary you want, and light or dark.
What the app writes
Readings, portraits, daily notes and dynamics are stored so the same text does not have to be paid for and written again every time you open a screen. They come from your charts and are held with the rest of your account.
We do not ask for and do not want: a physical address, a phone number, a government identifier, contacts, photos, precise device location, or payment details. The app charges nothing and has no payment processing in it.
4 · What is collected automatically
- One session cookie. A signed cookie that keeps you logged in. It is necessary for the app to work. It is not used to track you and it is not shared with anyone.
- Ordinary server logs. Our hosting provider records normal request information. IP address, timestamp, the page requested, browser user-agent. Every web server does this. We use it to keep the service running and to look into errors.
- Nothing else. There is no analytics package, no advertising SDK, no third-party tracker, no fingerprinting and no cross-site tracking anywhere in the app. If we add error monitoring or analytics, this section changes before it ships.
5 · How it is used
Your information runs the app for you. It computes charts from the birth details you enter. It writes the readings you asked to read. It keeps you logged in. It lets us answer you when you write to us. It keeps the service secure and working. That is the whole list.
We do not sell your information. We do not share it for advertising. We do not use it to train any artificial-intelligence model. We do not build profiles of you for anyone else’s purposes and we do not use your content to make decisions about you.
6 · Who else processes it
Three companies handle parts of the information the app holds. There are no others, and as section 2 says, nothing on this website contacts anyone else either.
Anthropic, the writing
The readings and the chat replies are written by Claude, a large language model run by Anthropic, PBC. To do that we send Anthropic what the model needs. Computed chart data, the names or labels you gave the people in your circle, your settings, and in a conversation the messages in that conversation. What you type in chat leaves our servers and is processed by Anthropic. Anthropic processes it to return a response under its commercial API terms, which provide that customer inputs and outputs are not used to train its models. Your email address and password are never sent.
OpenStreetMap, turning a place into coordinates
A chart needs latitude and longitude. When you enter a birth place, the place text you typed goes to Nominatim, the geocoding service of the OpenStreetMap Foundation, which returns coordinates. Only the place text goes. Not the person’s name, not the date, not the time, and nothing about your account.
Render, hosting
The app and its database run on infrastructure from Render Services, Inc. in the United States. Render holds the data at rest as our hosting provider and can reach it only as needed to provide that hosting.
Each of those three processes this information only to provide the service we use it for. Their terms require them to protect it to the same standard this policy sets, to keep it secure, to use it for nothing else, and not to sell it or pass it on. We send each one only what it needs, and no more.
Past those three, we disclose information only if we are legally required to, or to protect someone’s safety or our legal rights. If North 27 were ever sold or merged your information could transfer as part of that. You would be told before it did.
7 · Information about other people
This app is unusual in one important way. Most of what it holds is about people who are not using it. One account belongs to one person. Everyone else in a circle is a birth chart, not a user.
Everything the app holds about those people comes from one place. You typed it in. We do not look anyone up. Nothing is imported from a public record, a data broker, a contact list, a social network or any other outside source, and we do not combine what you enter with information from anywhere else. What you enter stays inside your account. We never use it to contact that person, market to them, build a profile of them, or make it available to anyone outside the three companies in section 6.
They cannot see what is written about them, so the responsibility sits with you. Only add someone if you would be comfortable telling them you did. Adding a person means you have a reasonable basis to enter their information, and their permission where they can give it. For a child that means being their parent or guardian. If someone asks you to take them out of your circle, please do it. You can remove a person and everything written about them at any time. If a person writes to us about being in someone’s circle we will help them, and we may need to contact the account holder to do it.
8 · Chats and the one-day clear
Conversations work two ways and the app tells you which kind you are in.
- A chat you do not keep clears itself. Unsaved conversations are deleted about a day after they happen. That is the default. Unless you keep a chat, it goes.
- A chat you keep is kept. Saved conversations stay in your account with their full message history until you delete them. You can delete a saved chat yourself.
- Starting a new chat clears the unsaved ones. Beginning a fresh conversation deletes conversations you had not kept. That is on purpose. The app does not build up a drawer of old chats you forgot about.
9 · Memory notes, and why they are off
The app has a feature that lets it write down short notes about things you told it, so you would not have to explain the same thing twice. It is turned off. As of September 8, 2026 the app writes no new notes and does not read existing ones. Nothing from a past chat is put into a new one. Chats begin with no memory of earlier ones.
On September 15, 2026 the notes written before that date were deleted. For a week they sat unused in accounts, readable and removable in Settings but read by nothing. Holding data the app had stopped using was not a state worth keeping, so it was disposed of — every note, for every account, permanently.
We turned it off because the feature did something we were not willing to ship. It used something a person had told the app to argue back at them. A memory is for continuity. It is not evidence. If the feature comes back it will be rebuilt around that rule, and this page will be updated before it is switched on again. That update will say plainly that such notes outlive the conversation they came from and feed into what the app writes for you afterwards.
10 · How long things are kept
- Account details, charts, settings and saved chats: until you delete them or delete your account.
- Unsaved chats: about one day, as section 8 says.
- Readings: held with your account, written again when the underlying data or the app’s writing rules change, and removed when the chart or account they belong to is removed.
- Memory notes written before September 8, 2026: deleted on September 15, 2026. None remain.
- An account you delete yourself: gone immediately. There is no holding period and no undo. Section 13 explains it.
- An account we remove: if we have to remove an account, it is hidden and signed out at once, and can be restored for 30 days in case the removal was a mistake. After 30 days it is purged for good.
- Server logs: they roll off on our host’s ordinary schedule.
- The record of a deleted account: kept. It is counts only — how many people were charted, how many readings and chats, over how long — with no name, no birth details and no readable email address. Section 13 says exactly what is in it and how to have it removed.
11 · Backups
We keep, or may create, backup copies of the database so an outage or a mistake does not destroy people’s accounts. A backup is a snapshot taken outside the deletion process, so it is not rewritten when you delete something. That has a consequence worth saying plainly. After you delete an item or your account, a copy of that data can still sit in a backup taken before the deletion, until that backup is replaced or destroyed in the ordinary course. It is not reachable in the app. It is not used for anything. It is not restored except to recover from a failure. But it is not instantly gone everywhere, and you should know that.
12 · What you can see and delete
Settings is a control panel, not a request form. From it you can see and change your charts and the people in your circle. You can read every memory note the app holds and delete any of them. You can change how the app writes. You can reach your saved chats. Anything you can see there you can remove there. Removing a person removes what the app wrote about them. Settings also holds the option that deletes your whole account.
If something you want to remove is not deletable from a screen, that is a defect and we want to hear about it. Write to us and we will delete it by hand and fix the screen.
13 · Deleting your account
You can delete your account from inside the app. Open the Settings tab, open Delete everything, enter your current password, then tap Delete my account forever and tap it again to confirm. That removes your account and everything in it. Your charts and the people in your circle, your chats, your saved items, your memory notes and every reading the app wrote for you.
It happens immediately and there is no undo. We do not hold your account for a grace period and we do not keep a copy of any of it. Section 11 explains what backups mean for that.
One record is kept, and it is not any of the things above. When an account is deleted we keep a row of counts — how many people were charted, how many readings and chats, how long the account existed, how many days it was used, and, if you chose to type one, the reason you gave for leaving. It holds no name, no birth date, no city, no chart, no reading and nothing anyone wrote. It does not hold your email address either: it holds a scrambled one-way form of it, which cannot be read back or written to, and exists so that if you ever sign up again we know you have been here before rather than treating you as a stranger. This is how we learn whether the app is worth using, without keeping anyone’s account to find out. If you would rather even that were gone, write to contactus@north27studio.com and we will remove it.
There is a page about deleting your account if you want the detail somewhere easier to find than a policy.
If you would rather we did it, write to contactus@north27studio.com from the address on the account. We will confirm, delete it, and tell you when it is done, normally within 30 days. We will not ask for a reason and we will not try to talk you out of it.
14 · Security
What we do. The site and app are served only over HTTPS. Passwords are stored as one-way hashes and never in readable form. Administrative access to the production system is tightly restricted. The app requires an invite code right now. We send third parties only the minimum each one needs.
What we will not claim. We are not going to tell you the database contents are encrypted at rest by us, because they are not. No method of transmitting or storing information is completely secure. If a breach ever affects your information we will tell you, and the authorities we are required to tell, promptly and specifically.
15 · Children
The app is not for children. You must be at least 13 to have an account. If you are under 18 you need a parent or guardian’s permission. We do not knowingly collect information from a child under 13. If we learn an account belongs to one we will delete it.
Separately, a grown-up can add a chart for a child in their family, and the app is built for that. Writing about a child is addressed to the adult reading it — who may be a parent, and may equally be a grandparent, an aunt or uncle, an older sibling or a guardian, and the app does not assume which. It is balanced between strengths and gentle things to watch for, and it is written as what tends to help rather than as anything wrong with the child. It never offers a diagnosis, a limit on who the child will become, or advice on discipline, schooling or anything medical — a birth chart has nothing to say about those, and the app will say so rather than answer. That information is entered by the parent and everything in section 7 applies to it.
Two things a parent should know. First, a child’s chart data and the name or label you gave them go to Anthropic the same way anyone else’s does, because that is how the writing is produced. Section 6 says exactly what is sent. Second, as that child’s parent or guardian you can ask us at any time to show you everything the app holds about them, correct it, delete it, or stop holding anything further. We will do it and we will not ask why. You can also remove the child and everything written about them yourself, from Settings, at any moment.
16 · Your rights
Wherever you live, you can ask us to show you what we hold about you, correct it, delete it, or send you a copy in a portable form. Write to contactus@north27studio.com and we will answer within 30 days. There is no charge, and asking will never affect your access to the app.
You can also withdraw your agreement yourself, without writing to anyone. Deleting a person removes their information and everything written about them. Deleting a memory note in Settings removes that note. Deleting your account withdraws everything at once, immediately.
For residents of California and other states with similar laws: we do not sell personal information and we do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising. We do not offer anything in exchange for personal information, so there is nothing to discriminate about. If you use an authorised agent we will ask for proof of authority.
If you are in the United Kingdom, the European Economic Area or another region with comparable law, our basis for processing is the contract to provide the app to you, together with our legitimate interest in keeping it secure and working. You may object to processing or ask us to restrict it, and you may complain to your local data-protection authority.
17 · Where information is stored
Information is stored and processed in the United States. Anthropic and Render are United States companies. Nominatim is run by the OpenStreetMap Foundation, in the United Kingdom and Europe. If you use the app from outside the United States you are sending your information to it.
18 · Changes to this policy
When this changes the date at the top changes with it. For a change that meaningfully affects how your information is handled, and the memory feature coming back is the clearest example, we will update this page before the change goes live and tell account holders by email.
19 · Contact
Privacy questions, requests, complaints and corrections go to one address. We answer them directly.
